DailyTask — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-16

1. Overview

DailyTask (“the Extension”) is a Chrome extension published by phiez.com. A fresh to-do list every day, deadline reminders and weekly productivity statistics. Everything stays on your device. This policy explains what data the Extension handles and how.

2. Data we handle

The Extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome’s storage APIs:

  • The tasks you create (title, date, time, priority, category, reminder, note, link, repeat rule, status)
  • Your settings (language, theme, sound, reminder defaults, daily goal and similar)
  • Derived statistics such as your best streak

This data stays in your browser. You can remove it at any time by clearing the Extension’s data or uninstalling the Extension.

3. Information the Extension reads when you ask it to

If you use the “Add to DailyTask” right-click menu, the Extension reads the page title, the page or link address and the text you selected, solely to prefill a new task. It is saved locally like any other task, and only when you click the menu item.

The Extension does not request access to any website and does not read your browsing history or page content. The Settings page contains a link to the author’s website (phiez.com); it opens in a new tab only when you click it and no information is attached to it.

4. Data collection and sharing

The Extension does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal or browsing data with us or with any third party. It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking services, and it does not load or execute remote code.

5. Permissions

The Extension requests only the permissions needed for its single purpose:

  • storage — Keep your tasks, settings and statistics on your device (chrome.storage.local, which Chrome does not sync).
  • alarms — Fire reminders, deadline alerts, the daily summary and the midnight new-day reset on time.
  • notifications — Show the daily summary and fallback reminders.
  • contextMenus — Provide the “Add to DailyTask” right-click item.
  • system.display — Place the small reminder window in the top-right corner of your screen.
  • offscreen — Play the reminder sound (a service worker has no audio output).
  • sidePanel — Show the task list and dashboard in Chrome’s side panel.

6. Your control

  • Edit or delete any task or setting at any time inside the Extension.
  • Removing the Extension deletes all of its stored data. You can also clear it from chrome://extensions → DailyTask → Details.

7. Compliance

The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the Extension’s single purpose and is not used for unrelated purposes, creditworthiness or lending decisions.

8. Children

The Extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will be revised. Material changes — in particular any new data handling or new permission — will be described here before they ship.
